The centerpiece of the Blue Diamonds ice hockey program is our girls' 12-and-under team. Registered as a USA Hockey Tier I team, the Blue Diamonds 12-and-under team are the 1998 Pacific District Champion. They represented Northern California in the USA Hockey Pacific District Regional Tournament in Anchorage Alaska. Emerging victorious from that tournament, they represented the Pacific District at the USA Hockey National Championships, held at Disney Ice in Anaheim April 1-5, 1998.
Although the 97-98 roster is already set, we're always looking for experienced players. This year's team is made up of girls born in 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988.

The second Blue Diamonds team, made up of skaters too old for the 12-and-under team, is registered as a recreational 19-and-under team. Most of the girls on the team are actually in the 11-14 year old age bracket, with a few 16 and 17 year olds mixed in.
The 19-U team plays a schedule against older boys' teams and adult women's teams. Last year, the Blue Diamonds played in the NCWHL Invitational tournament hosted by the Northern California Women's League, (NCWHL), and they took second place in the novice division. This year, we intend to return to the tournament and play in the intermediate division.
With the group of girls graduating from our 12-and-under team next year, we hope to add a Tier I 15-and-under team for 98-99, and will make every effort to send 2 teams to the Regionals and Nationals next year.
Approximately three times a month, the Blue Diamonds host an open hockey practice, girls only. The attendees range in age from 7 to 19. Every effort is made to accommodate the wide range of ages and experience, and it's both fun and informative.
In order to drop into the practices, the girl must be registered with USA Hockey during the 97-98 season. Practices cost $15 for drop-in. Full hockey gear is required. Bring a photocopy of the skater's USA Hockey card, or her IMR (Individual Member Registration).
